I Would Describe Myself As
For two decades now I’ve followed a path that may be familiar to some of the dominants and submissives on this site. I’ve been married to a vanilla person who thinks BDSM is crazy; I’ve perfected my craft by reading and learning from seminars, demonstrations, and others of my persuasion; I’ve sought and found others on whom to ‘practice’; I’ve attended play parties and collarings, and frequented dungeons and observed. I even reverted to dating in the vanilla world for a few years. But now at 60, with my faculties intact (including all of my teeth) and at the top of my form, I’m once again on a BDSM website seeking a submissive.
The difficulty in finding the right person lies in the nature of the medium many use to find that person: the Internet. Predators use it to lure their prey, mentally unbalanced persons use it to act out fantasies, and con artists abound. So submissives have become more wary than in the past. So have us dominants.
My point? Sorting out the real from the false or the rational from the unbalanced has become more difficult. Trust has eroded. Yet without being willing to trust, there can be no real D/s relationship (or any other kind that I can think of). So first the submissive (and the dominant) has to be willing to communicate and explore. A dominant’s will or a submissive’s gift are not the product of age, size, or income. We should look beyond the superficial.
Yes, we all have preferences. Physical attributes do contribute to the elixir of attraction. I prefer women of at least average weight relative to height and at least a decade younger than I am. That’s about it in terms of preferences. I keep my options open. I’ll meet the right person some day. She might be 30 or she might be 50, 5’0” or 6’ tall, black, white, Asian or Hispanic. She might have a Ph.D. or a GED. She may have children or may want to have a child; she may not want any children. All of these things are superficial. What does matter is that when I look into her eyes and she hears my words and feels my touch, she drops to her knees.
This degree of trust and commitment doesn’t come in days or even weeks. It certainly has little to do with common interests, cultures, education, or activities one enjoys. It begins by stepping outside of one’s boundaries, to remove the blinders and be open to the possibilities of trust.
I’m open to short term play or long term training or just friendship. Eventually, I’d like to meet someone willing to enter into a 24/7 relationship.
So take a chance. At the least you might share an enjoyable dinner and conversation with someone who understands and appreciates your sexuality.
